Nik Kovac was a member of the Milwaukee Common Council in Wisconsin, representing District 3. Kovac assumed office on April 15, 2008. Kovac left office on May 9, 2022.

Kovac ran for re-election to the Milwaukee Common Council to represent District 3 in Wisconsin. Kovac won in the general election on April 7, 2020.

Kovac resigned from the city council after being named the City of Milwaukee Budget Director in 2022.

Kovac is from Milwaukee, Wis., and attended Riverside High School. He received a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Harvard University. He worked as a reporter and newspaper editor in New York City before returning to Milwaukee to work for the Shepherd Express and Riverwest Currents. He hosts Packerverse, a weekly radio show.

The city of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, held elections for mayor and city council on April 5, 2016. A primary election took place on February 16, 2016. All 15 city council seats were up for election. Incumbent Nik Kovac defeated Shannan Hayden in the Milwaukee City Council District 3 general election.[1]
