Two years is the perfect amount of time for U.S. House of Representatives, because it ensures that the candidates have to meet with constituents and campaign in their district every year. This helps foster a system of government which is more reflective of the people's needs.
Congressman Ron Paul from Texas has always been a major inspiration to me politically. His libertarian views on taxes, monetary policy, healthcare and military non-intervensionism were some of the major reasons why I joined the Republican party. His message was clear and consistent, and he always seemed to speak from a place of honesty.
