Nita Jane Ayres
Nita Jane Ayres (b. May 19, 1957) is a former Republican member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 62. She was elected in a special election held February 2, 2010 to replace Dennis Wood, who resigned his seat to become presiding commissioner of Stone County.
Ayres defeated Libertarian Patty Tweedle by a vote of 1,325 to 378.[1]
Ayres works as Secretary/Treasurer for Yocum Silver Mine, Incorporated. She has previously been Controller of Tindle Mills and Central Soya Company, Incorporated, and a realtor. She earned her B.S. in accounting and business administration from Southwest Baptist University.
Ayres is Vice President of Table Rock Lake Community Foundation Board, and a member of the Stone County TIF Commission, Skaggs Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, and Table Rock Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Board.[2]

Elections
2010 primary
Ayres lost in the Republican primary on August 3 to Don Phillips by a margin of 3,112-2,206. Philips is running unopposed in the general election on November 2.
