Nixa Home Rule Charter Referendum (April 2010)
There was a Nixa Home Rule Charter Referendum question on the April 6 ballot in Christian County voter voters in the city of Nixa.

This measure asked voters if they wanted to adopt a home rule charter and become a more structured government that gives more power to the people of the city. Since it is adopted, a home rule charter means that the city can pass its own laws as is not strictly governed by those law set up by the state government.[2] Since it is approved, Nixa is now the 41st Missourian city to have a home rule charter. This will also allow residents the ability to hold referendum petitions. Officials believe more citizen control over the government would help with more involvement.[3]
