No candidates for three Tarrant County court races
June 16, 2010
Tarrant County, Texas: Since the March primary elections there have been some changes to the November general election ballot for Tarrant County, Texas, leaving three judicial seats without any candidates.
Tom Zachry won the Republican primary for the 432nd District Court judgeship, but died soon after the victory in a boating accident. According to the Secretary of State, since no Democratic candidate was nominated, Republicans will choose a replacement.
In the 342nd District Court, long-time judge Bob McGrath decided in March to leave and become the legal adviser for the Dallas County Commissioners Court. Since his judgeship was not on the primary ballot, Democratic and Republican precinct chairs must pick candidates for the general election in November.
Judge Debra Lehrmann's seat on the 360th District Court will also be vacant soon. She was appointed to fill an interim vacancy on the Texas Supreme Court, effective June 21, 2010.[1] Democratic and Republican precinct chairs will select candidates for her replacement.[2]
