Ballotpedia biographical submission form
The candidate completed Ballotpedia's biographical information submission form:
“ | What is your political philosophy?
The US government is intended to be of the people, by the people, for the people. I believe firmly that a representative must listen to her constituents in order to understand them and represent them accurately in DC. She must be willing to roll up her sleeves, do thorough research and call upon appropriate subject matter experts to come to smart sustainable solutions and address the needs of her constituents I plan to address the four topics I hear my constituents talk about as a priority, although there will certainly be others. Our citizens repeatedly tell me they do not appreciate the disrespect our current representative conveys by never meeting with anyone but elitists and large donors. They tell me they are terrified for the safety of our youth in schools and all citizens in public places. They tell me they are discouraged by the astronomical cost and inaccessibility of healthcare to both citizens and veterans. They tell me they want the corruption in politics to be eradicated. What I hear overwhelmingly, but is never addressed as an ‘issue’ is how our highly polarized, narrowly defined two party system doesn't fit our citizens' unique perspectives and silences their views. Is there anything you would like to add? I am committed to reaching across the aisle to develop practical, long term solutions to address your needs.[2] |
