Nominees announced for Utah's 8th District Court

Vernal, Utah: Five nominees have been selected as possible candidates to fill the seat, empty after July 1, 2010, of A. Lynn Payne. They are: Daryl L. Bell, Joel D. Berrett, Keith E. Eddington, Clark A. McClellan and Marsha C. Thomas.
Now that the 8th District Judicial Nominating Commission's selections have been announced, the public has 10 days to comment on the choices. Though the Commission could reconsider the nominees after this period, most likely they will be submitted to Governor Gary Herbert. Once Herbert makes his selection, the Senate Confirmation Committee will conduct a public hearing and interview session. The Utah State Senate will confirm the nominee.[1]
