Campaign website

Garcia's campaign website stated the following:

Demanding fiscal accountability, strengthening communities, and caring for our neighbors.

Demanding fiscal accountability

As your councilmember, I have consistently fought for fiscal accountability, to ensure wise and transparent use of public resources. This includes:

  • Supporting Measure Z on our ballot in June, to restructure the Kids First Initiative adopted by voters in 2024 into a sustainability strategy to invest in our youth.
  • Opposing outsourcing of city services that result in increased fees and elimination of union jobs.
  • Working to ensure businesses that profit from the use of our infrastructure pay their fair share.

Strengthening Communities

I believe stable neighborhoods are the foundation of our community. That’s why, as your Councilmember, I have:

  • Fought to provide stable housing for all District 3 residents.
  • Supported zoning changes that ban mega-warehouses and other uses that adversely impact our neighborhoods.
  • Supported the expansion of park land in the city and the improvement of existing parks, including new play structures at Washington Park.

Caring for Our Neighbors

Above all, I believe we must care for all of our neighbors. That’s why I’ve:

  • Identified and promoted resources that help to close the affordability gap for District 3 families, including food, housing, education and employment opportunities.
  • Worked to provide resources and support for families and businesses adversely impacted by immigration raids
  • Advocated for policies that treat our unhoused with dignity and care, while at the same time addressing the very real burdens placed on residents and property owners resulting from people living on our streets.
