Norfolk Property Tax Increase (May 2010)
There was a Norfolk Property Tax Increase measure on the May 11 ballot in Madison County for voters in the city of Norfolk.
This measure was approved
- YES 2,240 (57.03%)
- NO 1,688 (42.97%)[1]
This measure asked voters for approval of a $35.90 per $100,000 of assessed property value increase to their taxes in order to fund a $4 million economic development program the city has planned. There was no specific use of the money stated by the city government, but a similar plan was rejected in 2002.[2]
