Norma A. Sierra is a judge on the Twentieth Judicial District Court in Colorado. She was appointed by Governor John Hickenlooper (D) on July 16, 2015, to replace Judge Dolores Mallard. Her term expires in 2018.[1] She was previously a judge on the Boulder County Court from 2011 to 2015.[2]

Education

Sierra received her B.B.A. from the University of Texas in 1984 and her J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1987.[2]

Career

Appointed by Gov. John Hickenlooper on July 16, 2015, to replace Dolores Mallard.
Appointed by Gov. Bill Ritter in 2010 to replace Carolyn Hoye Enichen.

Sierra was the chief deputy district attorney and family court facilitator in the Colorado 1st Judicial District prior to her appointment to the bench in 2010. From 1996 to 2000, she was a solo practitioner. Earlier in her career she was a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice from 1990 to 1993.[2]

Sierra was retained to the Boulder County Court, Colorado with 76.2 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [3]
