Norman Ackerman was a judge on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.[1] Ackerman was first appointed to the court by then Governor Robert P. Casey Sr., in 1988. He was then elected in 1989 and retained in 1999. In 2005, Ackerman retired from the court due to reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. He then served as a senior judge until 2013.[2]

Education

Ackerman earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from Temple University.[3]

Career

Prior to joining the court, Ackerman practiced a wide range of law, from working with the Department of Transportation to working for the Attorney General.[2]
