North Dakota Dickinson Experiment Station Referendum, Measure 1 (1978)

The North Dakota Dickinson Experiment Station Referendum, also known as Measure 1, was on the September 5, 1978 ballot in North Dakota as a veto referendum, where it was approved.[1] The measure authorized the state board of higher education to sell land that was being used by the Dickinson experiment station at the time. It also provided for the use of the proceeds of the sale to provide for the purchase of replacement land for the use of the Dickinson experiment station. It also authorized a loan from the Bank of North Dakota. The measure was originally passed as an emergency measure by the legislature.[2]
