North Dakota Income and Sales Taxes, Referendum 4 (1965)

The North Dakota Income and Sales Taxes Referendum, also known as Referendum 4, was on the September 21, 1965 ballot in North Dakota as a veto referendum, where it was defeated.The measure would have provided new income tax rates, required withholding of income taxes, broadened the sales tax, increased sales tax and exempted personal property from taxation. The measure referred House Bill No. 698 to voters.[1][2]
