North Dakota Legislative Article Referendum, Amendment 3 (1980)
|
|
The North Dakota Legislative Article Referendum, also known as Amendment 3, was on the November 4, 1980 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated.[1] The measure would have repealed the current sections regarding the legislative assembly and created a new article regarding the legislative branch. This would have effectively reorganized the legislature apportionment. It also would have allowed for a constitutional convention measure to be placed on the ballot every 30 years by the Secretary of State. I also would have created an office of Auditor General to audit the receipt and use of public funds who would be appointed to and responsible to the legislature.[2]
