The North Dakota Presidential Preference and June Primary Referendum, also known as Measure 7, was on the September 2, 1980 ballot in North Dakota as a veto referendum, where it was approved.[1] The measure provided for presidential preference primary elections in presidential election years. It also modified the rules governing primary election dates, notice to county auditors of the offices to be filled at the primary and filing petitions to obtain a separate column on the primary election ballot.[2]
