The Qualifications of the Superintendent initiated constitutional amendment would have required that a Superintendent spend 40 hours in the class room annually and retain a valid teaching license. Its supporters hoped to qualify it for the North Dakota 2008 ballot. It did not make the November 4, 2008 ballot.
The initiative was approved by the North Dakota Secretary of State for circulation. The proponents had 1 year to collect 25,688 valid signatures to qualify the initiative for the 2008 ballot.[1]
Support
State Rep., Duane L. DeKrey was sponsoring the initiative.
