North Dakota Repeal Required Crew on Freight Trains, Initiative 3 (1964)

The North Dakota Repeal Required Crew on Freight Trains Initiative, also known as Initiative 3, was on the November 3, 1964 ballot in North Dakota as an initiated state statute, where it was approved.[1] The measure repealed state statutes requiring certain number of crew members on freight trains and self-propelled equipment.[2] It also provided for continuation of job guarantees to certain brakemen and authorizes job and pay protection for affected employees. The measure did not apply to passenger trains.[3]
