The North Dakota Salaries of Public Officials Referendum, also known as Amendment 1, was on the September 2, 1980 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated.[1] The measure would have required all fees and profits gathered by any public office that has a salary prescribed by law be deposited in the state treasury.[2]
