The North Dakota Coal Sales and Mineral Rights Referendum, also known as Amendment 2, was on the June 28, 1960 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure eliminated the restriction on the sale of coal lands. It also reserved to the state all minerals where original grant school lands are sold. It also authorized the legislature to enact laws for the leasing of such lands for the extraction and sale of such minerals.[1][2][3]
