Ballot title
The ballot title for Amendment 3 was as follows:
| “ | This measure would eliminate the state treasurer as an elected officer of the state effective January 1, 2003, and provides that upon approval of this measure, the state treasurer would be elected to a term of two years at the November 2000 general election. This measure also provides that the agriculture commissioner would replace the state treasurer on the board of university and school lands and would repeal certain duties of the state treasurer related to the issuance of legal tender by banks in this state. | ” |
