North Dakota Supreme Court to hear electronic records case

North Dakota: The North Dakota Supreme Court is set to hear an appeal to reject a rule governing electronic records access. The rule would give the court discretion to block records for criminal cases in which the defendant was acquitted, or if charges were dismissed. Supporters argue that these records make it difficult for defendants to find housing or employment despite being cleared by the law. Some records would still be available online, and hard copy records would not be affected by the rule.[1]
