The North Dakota Two-Thirds Legislative Supermajority Vote for Tax Increases Amendment was not on the ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment on November 8, 2022.
This amendment would have required a two-thirds supermajority vote from each chamber of the North Dakota State Legislature to impose a new tax or increase an existing tax.[1]

To put a legislatively referred constitutional amendment before voters, a simple majority vote is required in both the North Dakota State Senate and the North Dakota House of Representatives.
This amendment was introduced as House Concurrent Resolution 3040 on February 24, 2021. The House approved the amendment in a vote of 55-34 on March 9, 2021.[1] On April 1, 2021, the Senate rejected the proposal, voting 18-28.[1]
