The North Dakota World War II Adjusted Compensation Referendum, also known as Amendment 2, was on the June 29, 1948 ballot in North Dakota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved.
The measure authorized the issuance, sale and delivery of bonds of the state of North Dakota in the sum not to exceed $27,000,000, to pay for an adjusted compensation to North Dakota veterans of World War II.[1][2]
Aftermath
In 1978, this amendment was repealed by another legislatively referred constitutional amendment. The 1978 measure repealed amendments pertaining to issuance of bonds to pay for bonuses to veterans of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
