A Northfield Township Citizens United Referendum was on the November 6, 2012 ballot in the township of Northfield which is in Cook County, where it was approved.

This measure was an advisory question. It asked residents if they would like the U.S. Constitution to be amended to limit corporate and private money influencing elections and candidate for office. Though this measure was non-binding, township officials noted that the results would still show the opinions of residents on the issue. A similar effort was made in Chicago and other nearby townships to get this issue on their fall ballots.[1]
