Notorious Delaware killer died in prison
September 21, 2011
Delaware: Thomas Capano, convicted killer of Anne Marie Fahey, passed away in prison on September 19, 2011. His case was notorious in Delaware, spawning four books, several television documentaries and a made-for-TV movie. He was a successful lawyer from a wealthy family, married with four children. He was also a repeat philanderer and murderer, convicted of killing one of his mistresses after she broke off their affair. Anne Marie Fahey, 30 years old and 17 years Capano's junior, was the gubernatorial secretary for former Governor Carper. When she went missing there was a year and a half search for her body, which was never found. Eventually, Thomas Capano's brother Gerard admitted to helping his brother dispose of her body in shark-infested waters of the Atlantic Ocean.[1]
Capano had been in poor health for several years and it is believed that he died of natural causes.[2]
