This measure sought to replace the current school levy which is set to expire with one set at a rate of $1.77 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further two years in order to pay for general fund maintenance and operational costs in the district.[2]

The question on the ballot:
| ThThe Board of Directors of Oakville School District No. 400 adopted Resolution No. 01-2012-08 concerning a proposition to finance maintenance and operation expenses. The proposition would authorize the District to meet the educational needs of its students by levying the following excess taxes in place of an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for support of the District’s General Fund educational maintenance and operation expenses: Collection Year: 2013-2014; Approximate Levy Rate per $1000 Assessed Value: $1.77; Levy Amount: $306,400. All as provided in Resolution No. 01-2012-08. Should this proposition be approved?[3] |
