Ohio: Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor will receive the "Alumni of the Year" award from Cleveland State University's Cleveland-Marshall College of Law next month. About the award, O'Connor said, "Cleveland Marshall College of Law has educated some of Ohio’s best lawyers and judges, and I am humbled to receive this recognition from my alma mater."[1]

Chief Justice O'Connor has served in this position since her election in 2010. Prior to that, she served on the Ohio Supreme Court as an associate justice from 2002 to 2010. Before joining the court, O'Connor served as Ohio's Lieutenant Governor for four years.[2]

Chief Justice O'Connor is also the first woman to serve as the head of the Ohio judicial branch.[1]
