Ohio Common Pleas judges learn about human trafficking
June 28, 2011
Ohio: In an effort to keep Ohio judges updated on current issues the Ohio Common Pleas Judges Association and The Supreme Court of Ohio Judicial College sponsored a three-day seminar earlier this month. The subject was the problem of human trafficking, which coordinates with legislation proposed by Teresa Fedor in the Ohio House of Representatives this year. Judges participating in the program were:
- Gregory F. Singer, of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas in Dayton;
- Paul M. Herbert, of the Franklin County Municipal Court in Columbus; and
- Connie F. Zemmelman, of the Lucas County Court of Common Pleas - Juvenile Division in Toledo.
These three judges live in Ohio cities where human trafficking is a concern and came together to share experiences with the issue, in addition to how to solve it.[1]
