Ohio: On Friday, members of Ohio's judiciary gathered at the Ohio Judicial Center for the dedication of the building. It is now officially the Thomas J. Moyer Ohio Judicial Center. The building was renamed to honor the former Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court, who passed away unexpectedly in 2010. Moyer was the second-longest serving chief justice in the history of the state, from January 1987 to April 2010.[1]

During his tenure, Chief Justice Moyer was responsible for transforming the building and deciding to move the Ohio Supreme Court there. Current Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor said, "His vision for what this building could be was just that, a vision. This space was a neglected landmark endangered of being razed before Tom became involved. I believe it was his intent that the grandeur of this building reflects that majesty."[1]
