The Ohio Sessions of the General Assembly Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the October 13, 1857 ballot in Ohio as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was defeated. The measure would have provided that the general assembly commence on the first Monday of January annually.

Note: Although this measure gathered more "yes" votes, a majority of the total 332,126 votes in the entire election (166,604 votes) were needed for the measure to be approved.
