A total of 338 candidates ran in Ohio’s 2014 judicial elections, including 182 incumbents seeking re-election. On November 4, 2014, there were 140 contested judicial races in the general election. Among the 44 incumbents facing challengers, seven were defeated in their re-election bids. Meanwhile, two Ohio Supreme Court justices were re-elected.

Interesting races
- Ohio Supreme Court Justice Sharon L. Kennedy was re-elected for a full six-year term. She defeated her opponent Tom Letson, a Democratic member of the Ohio House of Representatives, with 72.6% of the vote. Fellow Justice Judith French defeated Judge John P. O'Donnell of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas with 56.0% of the vote.
- The closest race was between Judge J. Curtis Werren and Chryssa N. Hartnett for a seat on the Stark County Court of Common Pleas. Hartnett was declared the winner with 50.07% of the vote.[1]
- The largest margin of victory occurred in the race for the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas seat. Delaware Municipal Court Judge David Gormley received 76.6% of the vote over Emmanuel Olawale, an attorney in private practice.
