The city of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma held an election for mayor on March 4, 2014. Because one candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote, a runoff election was not necessary.[1][2]
Incumbent Mayor Mick Cornett won re-election to a fourth term.[3]
Qualifications
In order to run for the Mayor of Oklahoma City in 2014, candidates were required to meet the following qualifications:[4]
- Citizen of the United States and of the State of Oklahoma
- At least 21 years of age
- Qualified voter in The City of Oklahoma City
- Three years immediately preceding the election a resident of The City of Oklahoma City or an area which has been annexed to and has become a part of the City
- Registered voter at an address within the municipality for at least 6 months prior to filing a declaration of candidacy for such office.
