Oklahoma Ethics Commission fines ballot activist $500

OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma: The Oklahoma Ethics Commission fined a ballot activist from Seminole $500 for violating state campaign finance laws[1].
John Griffin was fined after agreeing to a settlement with the Ethics Commission on charges of failing to register a campaign opposing a Seminole County sales tax measure in 2008. Griffin raised over $2,000 to oppose the measure, but Oklahoma requires any person to register a campaign committee if they plan to raise $500 or more to influence a measure[1].
