Ballot title

The ballot title for State Question 314 was as follows:

Shall a proposed amendment to Section 9, Article X, Oklahoma Constitution, providing that the annual ad valorem tax rate for school purposes may be increased, in any school district; by not to exceed fifteen (15) mills on the dollar valuation, upon all property therein, if a majority of the qualified voters of such district voting at an election, vote for such increase, be approved by the people?

In Oklahoma, the number of signatures required for an initiated constitutional amendment was equal to 15% of the votes cast in the last general election. In 2010, voters approved State Question 750, which changed the signature requirement to be based on the preceding gubernatorial election. A simple majority vote is required for voter approval.
