Oklahoma granted $10 million by Labor Department to help clean-up efforts

OKLAHOMA CITY,Oklahoma: The U.S. Department of Labor will award $10 million in emergency grants to help clean up following the mid-May tornadoes that devastated parts of Oklahoma. Cleveland, Lincoln, McClain, Oklahoma and Pottawatomie counties will be eligible for the grants.[1]
Risk Management Solutions Inc. estimated $3.5 billion worth of insured losses, including 20,000 damaged buildings and between 4,000 and 5,000 completely destroyed buildings. They did not include car insurance losses in their figures.[2]
The grants will go to the state Commerce Department, with $5 million immediately available. The remainder will be released as the state meets federal guidelines.[1]
