I am a civil trial lawyer who believes that without integrity you have nothing; courts must treat everyone with respect; judges should be elected and accountable to the citizens.
I believe that judges should be fair-minded and follow the law. Integrity is paramount and every person who walks into a courtroom should be confident that the judge will treat him or her with respect. Rich or poor, connected or not, every person is entitled to an equal opportunity to have his or her dispute heard. A fair and impartial judge is critical to our legal system. We should all demand nothing less.
It is important for the voters of Tarrant County to have a choice when voting for judges. Judges, like all elected officials, are public servants and are accountable to the citizens they serve. I believe that judges should have experience in the court in which they serve. I have been a civil litigator for 17 plus years and I am running for a court with civil jurisdiction. Judges should follow the law, and seek to apply the law and the facts to obtain the most just result. Lastly, the constitutional right to trial by jury is absolute.
I believe that the judges for courts with specific jurisdiction, such as the 352nd Civil District Court, should have experience handling the types of matters heard in that court. Judges in Texas run in partisan elections, but I do not believe that judges should not engage in politics. Judges are the gatekeepers who are tasked with following the law and making decisions based on the facts and law without regard to a party's connections, social status, or wealth.
