Omar J. Aboulhosn is a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. He was appointed on December 3, 2015, to an eight-year term beginning on January 1, 2016, and ending on December 31, 2024.[1]

Prior to joining the district court, he was a judge for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, which presides over Mercer County in West Virginia.[2] He was appointed to the court by former Governor Joe Manchin III on December 5, 2008, and assumed office on January 1, 2009.[3] He won election to the court in 2010, and his term would have expired in 2016. He announced his retirement from this position on December 4, 2015[4][1]

Education

Aboulhosn received his bachelor's degree in political science, with a minor in communications, from Concord College in 1989. He earned his J.D. from the West Virginia University College of Law in 1992.[5][6]

Aboulhosn defeated opponent Timothy D. Boggess in the primary election. He won the general election and was elected to the Ninth Judicial Circuit unopposed.[8][4]
