I am a husband, a father of 3 young children and a Marine Corps veteran who turned growing up in poverty into earning an MBA. I owe everything to my military service and my story is only possible in America because of America. I am only able to achieve my version of the American dream because I was willing to worked hard and get educated. I believe that a quality education is the miracle of America. I believes education is the key that lifts people from poverty into a life of possibilities no person should hindered from that just because of their zip code. I also believe in keeping our communities safe and ensuring everyone who lives in the area continue to have the opportunities I did. By electing me to the PA State Senate, the people of my district will have a senator who has lived through the same struggles and have the same concerns as many in the district do. And if we disagree, then I can promise to always be willing to listen to the prospective and experiences that are different than mine.
I am passionate about delivering an opportunity for a good quality education to every child in my district. That if they are in a failing school then the parents should have the right to move their child to another school of their choosing. I am not only for good public schools but for private, charters etc. schools to be made available to every child. I am also for curriculum transparency and ensuring the parents have a say in that curriculum.
My mom and sister. Two strong, hard working women in my life who taught me right from wrong and always supported me in trying to make an impossible thing possible.
I think an elected official should have the characteristics should have an open mind and compassion and understanding. That just because he or she may belong to a different party or have different beliefs does not exclude them from hearing the stories and experiences of others.
I have a story that is shared by many. I come from poverty and lifted myself to become an educated man with a family. I am passionate continuing to reach higher up the ladder that I am at the same time reach back to help the next person.
I started work at the age of 13 where I was apart of a PIC program during the summer. I did that for 3 summers straight.
