An effort to recall Supervisor John Brielmaier, Treasurer Meryl Christensen, Clerk Paula Ralph and Trustees Norman Krupp and Nathan Brousseau in Ontwa Township, Michigan from their positions was launched in 2014. A recall election took place on November 4, 2014.[1] Four of the five board members were recalled. Only Meryl Christensen was retained.[2]

The officials were targeted for their role in promoting a sewer plant in the area.[1]

Petitioners needed to gather 457 signatures per official to force a recall election. Supporters turned in just under 700 for each.[3] The officials had until August 28, 2014, to file a written challenge to the petition. Because none did, the recall election took place on November 4, 2014.[1]
