Oprah Revish (she/her/hers) loves Lansing and believes we can do better! It won’t be easy and she is up for the task of doing what needs to be done so all second ward citizens can thrive.

Oprah has worked in education since 2009. Currently, she serves LGBTQA+ students at Michigan State University and Lansing’s LGBTQIA+ community as one of the co-directors for the Salus Center.

This last year has taught Oprah to find creative solutions in uncertain times. Join her in creating a new future for Lansing. This isn’t the time for “business as usual”.

We are the heroes we have been waiting for! Oprah believes we have the answers and she is up to the challenge of getting our voices heard!

Vote Oprah Revish for City Council in 2nd Ward!
  • We do not have a scarcity of resources, we have priorities that do not consider the needs of our most marginalized identities.
  • We need to give local government back to the people!
  • I don't have all the answers, and I know together can be creative and find them!
Divest from police and Invest in our community!

Target proactive measures like mental health services, creating jobs, and providing housing to those in need. This measures prevent criminal activity and change lives!

Ensure 2nd Ward streets and parks get regular and deserved upgrades! Ward 2 does not have a community center. Community centers are a touchpoint for citizens to access resources and build community!

Re(imagine) our community together! Meet regularly with Ward 2 citizens so you know your council member is working for you! One person doesn't have all the answers, but collectively we do!

Support local nonprofit organizations supporting our youth, elderly, and folks experiencing houslessness

The first historical event I remember is the trial seeking justice for Rodney King and the unrest that occurred after the acquittal. I was five years-old.

City Council members can investigate city offices and officials when claims of discrimination arise. Citizens can call for these investigations of their elected officials.
I think it can be beneficial but it is not necessary. I do not think it is necessary for people to have previous experience. I think living is an experience. I believe caring about people and community is experience that prepares us all to serve.
Holders of this office should be creative, thoughtful, and have a mind for historic and present day oppressions that harm marginalized communities.
