An Orcas Island School District Levy Increase measure was on the November 8, 2011 ballot in the Orcas Island school district area which is in San Juan County.
This measure was approved
- YES 1,568 (61.15%)
- NO 996 (38.85%)[1]
This measure sought to increase the current school levy by a rate of $.28 per $1,000 of assessed property value for one year in order to help pay for capital improvement projects at the Nellie Milton Elementary School in the district. The County Auditor had sought arguments, both for and against the measure, to be placed in the Voter's Pamphlet.[2]
