Oregon Forest Practices Amendment, also known as Initiatives 42, did not appear on the November 2, 2010 statewide ballot in Oregon as an initiated state statute.
As of July 2, the state's petition drive deadline, no signatures were submitted in an effort to qualify the measure for the ballot.

Amends Forest Practices Act; imposes new requirements, restrictions; requires adoption of rules; authorizes citizen lawsuits.
Result of "Yes" Vote: "Yes" vote imposes new forestry regulations on private and state forestland, with potential exemptions; prohibits using pesticides, herbicides on such lands; authorizes citizen enforcement lawsuits.
Result of "No" Vote: "No" vote retains existing Forest Practices Act, regulations, and enforcement methods on state and private land; allows using herbicides, pesticides; does not authorize citizen enforcement.
Summary: Requires state Board of Forestry to adopt regulations to promote "sustainable timber harvest practices," as term is defined by this measure. Establishes new standards for timber harvests, including amount of timber that must be left standing in harvest area; limits size of individual harvest area to 240 acres. Requires landowner to file notice, written plan showing compliance before beginning forest practice operation. Supersedes conflicting statutes, regulations. Applies to all state, private forestlands. Exemption available to owners of 160 or fewer forestland acres on showing of undue economic hardship. Prohibits use of pesticide, herbicide chemicals, without exception. Allows any person affected or aggrieved by a violation to file lawsuit, seek injunction, attorney fees. Allows costs, attorney fees against anyone filing lawsuit in bad faith. Other provisions.

Initiative petitions for statutes required six percent of 1,379,475, or 82,769 signatures. The deadline for filing signatures for the November 2, 2010 ballot was July 2, 2010. As of July 2 no signatures were submitted in an effort to qualify the measure for the ballot.
