Constitutional Amendment - Referred to the People by the Legislative Assembly - Vote YES or NO

LEGISLATORS’ COMPENSATION CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT - Purpose: To amend the state constitution to fix the compensation of members of the legislature at $500 for the term of two years, together with travel pay for going to an returning from the place of meeting, as now provided by the constitution; the presiding officers to receive one-half of their allowance as members as additional compensation.

A simple majority vote is required during one legislative session for the Oregon State Legislature to place a constitutional amendment on the ballot. That amounts to a minimum of 31 votes in the Oregon House of Representatives and 16 votes in the Oregon State Senate, assuming no vacancies.
