The Oregon Republican Party is the Oregon political party affiliate of the national Republican Party. The group is headquartered in Salem, Oregon.
The party is composed of a governing body called the State Central Committee and a chairman, both of which are elected for terms lasting from the County Biennial Organizational Meeting until successors are qualified and elected.[1]

Primary elections
The Bylaws of the Oregon Republican Party states that candidates for federal and state office, in the event of a vacancy, can be selected by mass meetings, party canvasses, conventions if there is no primary.
Oregon allows parties throughout the state to chose whether or not their primaries will be open or closed. Both the Oregon Republican Party and the Oregon Democratic Party utilize closed primaries where only registered members can participate in candidate selection.[4]
