Orenthia Mason is the District 2 incumbent on the Tyler school board in Texas. She defeated challenger Cedrick Granberry Sr. for re-election on May 10, 2014. Mason was automatically re-elected to another term after the general election on May 6, 2017 was canceled.

2017

Two of seven seats on the Tyler Independent School District board of trustees were up for by-district general election on May 6, 2017. District 2 incumbent Orenthia Mason and District 4 incumbent Patricia Nation ran unopposed in their bids for re-election. Martin Marroquin filed to run for the District 4 seat but withdrew his candidacy on February 24, 2017.[1] Both elections were canceled due to a lack of opposition and both candidates were automatically re-elected to another term.[2]

Results

Due to lack of opposition, the election was canceled and Mason was automatically re-elected.
