Orphy Klempa
Orphy Klempa is a former Democratic member of the West Virginia State Senate, representing District 1. He was first elected to the Senate in 2010 and served until his resignation on December 10, 2012 when he left to serve as Ohio County Commissioner.[1] Klempa also represented District 3 in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 2006-2010.
Klempa worked as a coal miner and carpenter foreman. He has been a business representative for the Mid-Atlantic Regional Council of Carpenters since 1995.
He received his AD from West Virginia Northern Community College, and was a Journeyman in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Apprenticeship Program.
Klempa died on October 11, 2021, of bladder cancer.[2]

Elections
2010
Klempa did not seek re-election to House of Delegates District 3 in 2010. He was elected to West Virginia State Senate, District 1, in the 2010 elections on November 2. Klempa defeated Democrat Dan Paul Greathouse in the May 11 primary. He defeated Republican Charles Schlegel in the November 2 general election.[3] [4][5]

2008
In 2008 Klempa was re-elected to the West Virginia House District 3. Klempa (D) finished with 9,236 votes and was followed by Talmadge Hutchins (D) with 8,495 votes and William Hefner (R) with 5,278 votes.[6] Klempa raised $37,197 for his campaign fund.[7]
