Oscar C. Frietze
Oscar C. Frietze was the judge of the Magistrate Court, Division 1, in Dona Ana County. He was elected to the court in 1990 and retired on October 31, 2013.[1]
During his second term on the court, Frietze established the DWI Drug Court program, giving individuals convicted of driving under the influence the opportunity for treatment. Frietze said this was the first such court in the nation.[1]
Career
Prior to joining the magistrate court, Frietze was a state police officer for twenty-one years.[1]
2010 election
Frietze was re-elected after running unopposed in the general election.[2]
