I am running as the Libertarian candidate to represent the 96th district in the Ohio House of Representatives. I have had an interest in politics since I was a teen. I first volunteered for the Mitt Romney presidential campaign in 2012 as a phone banker and putting together literature to mail. In 2016, I joined the Libertarian Party and helped with the Gary Johnson presidential campaign as social media coordinator for the state of Ohio. During my time as social media coordinator, he aided in Hispanic outreach for the campaign and this caused me to found the Libertarian Hispanic Caucus in late 2017. Since its founding, I have helped on three campaigns as their Hispanic outreach coordinator by creating content and conducting interviews in the Spanish language. I volunteer with the local organizations in various projects such as youth mentoring programs, aiding in educational forums, and food pantries. I hope to take this experience as a political activist and a member of the community to build a campaign that focuses on the needs of the community and to offer viable solutions to those needs.
  • In an ever polarizing political field, it is paramount we come together and work for a better tomorrow.
  • It's time to introduce a truly independent voice in the political system that is for the people.
  • We keep sending the same establishment types and expecting different results. Not anymore.
Economic prosperity based on free market principles. This provides tremendous opportunity and government should get out of the way of innovation and job creation.

Every person should have access to quality healthcare at an affordable price. Government intervention keeps prices high and restricts competition in the healthcare industry.

The education system should prepare students for the real world. Parents and teachers, not a far off agency, should determine the needs of their students.
I had a teacher, Mr. Hirmas, who was very welcoming when I first entered high school. He helped provide guidance in both my spiritual and political walk. He never told me what to believe but challenged me in order for me to be more secure in my beliefs. We still maintain a good relationship a decade later.
I believe myself to be prudent. I consider every action and its possible consequences for the present and the future. This will serve me well when it comes to writing legislation because I will have an eye for the future. This will prevent problems from coming up again.
I also take the time to listen to people. Too often politicians are filled with their own ideas and take little time to listen to the everyday person.
The core responsibility of any elected official is to protect the rights of the people.
Landmine by Polaris - I'm a metal head.
It does help to a degree but a legislative body should be as diverse in experience to reflect the populace it seeks to represent. If every legislator is a lawyer, then it will only reflect that viewpoint. We need engineers, doctors, and other professions to effectively address the issues that may come.
Ideally, both would keep the other in check in regards if they are following Constitutional principles and serving the interests of the people. A governor would veto laws that are detrimental to both. A state legislature can refuse to pass laws that a governor proposes.
Of course, no legislator can pass bills without making alliances. I believe as Frederick Douglass, work with anyone to do good and no one to do harm. If there is common ground on a particular issue, I'd be willing to build a relation with another legislator regarding that issue.
