Campaign website

Mann’s campaign website stated the following:

  • Academic Achievement: Oscar Mann understands that investing in our students today lays the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. Academic achievement is not merely a measure of individual success; it is the key that unlocks countless opportunities for Alabama's youth. A solid education empowers students to develop critical thinking skills, deepens their understanding of the world, and opens doors to a lifetime of possibilities.
  • Equal Learning Opportunities: Mr. Mann continues to strongly support the Alabama State School Board in banning Critical Race Theory (CRT) in school classrooms. In this crucial time of prioritizing unity and equality, he firmly believes that our emphasis should be on providing quality education, creating an atmosphere that encourages critical thinking, and empowering students to succeed in their educational endeavors.
  • School Safety: Oscar is an experienced educator and dedicated school board member who prioritizes school safety. He supports comprehensive safety measures and close collaboration with school administrators, teachers, parents, and local emergency organizations to maintain safe schools.
  • Educational Opportunities: One of Mr. Mann’s primary goals is to provide greater educational opportunities for the children of Alabama. One effective way to achieve this is by expanding signature academies statewide. Signature academies offer students the chance to specialize in career pathways and acquire valuable certifications before graduating from high school.
  • School Choice: Oscar Mann strongly believes that all children deserve a successful education, and he advocates for policies that ensure access to high-quality learning opportunities for every student in Alabama. He supports School Choice and believes that parents should be able to transfer their children to another school if their designated school is not meeting curriculum standards set by the state.[2]
