Campaign website
Salinas' campaign website stated the following:
The Challenge We Face
Bexar County’s population is growing rapidly, but the number of courts and prosecutors has not kept pace. That means more cases, more victims waiting for justice, and greater demands on the people serving in the DA’s Office.
Oscar has seen firsthand how this affects families, communities, and the people who work tirelessly to deliver justice. He’s committed to finding smarter, more efficient ways to manage rising caseloads, ensuring that justice is swift, fair, and consistent for everyone.
Building a Stronger Team
Nearly a quarter of positions in the DA’s Office are currently vacant. Many talented attorneys face heavy workloads and the pressure of making complex decisions every day.
Oscar believes the office should foster a culture of learning, collaboration, and confidence where prosecutors are supported and empowered to make sound decisions. Inspired by principles of Just Culture, he wants to create an environment where team members can grow, learn from experiences, and continuously improve.
By prioritizing training, mentorship, and thoughtful leadership, Oscar will strengthen the team and help retain experienced prosecutors who know our community and its needs.
Restoring Trust and Fairness
For over a decade, Oscar has seen that justice isn’t about numbers it’s about people. Every case impacts real lives: victims, defendants, families, and communities.
He’s running to ensure that the DA’s Office operates with transparency, fairness, and accountability, while building strong partnerships with law enforcement and the community. Oscar’s goal is simple: a District Attorney’s Office that works for everyone, every day.
